It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruby McCullum, who peacefully left this world on April 20, 2024, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Born on February 21, 1945, to Samuel Rockett and Eddie Jean Rockett, Ruby was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Ruby married the love of her life, William McCullum, May 19, 1973, and together they fostered five wonderful children: Tangela Davis, Miles Hanley, LaKisha Walker, Kaream Anthony, and Jessica Johnson. She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren.

After graduating from Wingfield High School in 1964, Ruby furthered her education at Jackson State College, where she earned her degree in 1968. She was a dedicated member of the community, volunteering her time to help as a foster mother to many children.

When she wasn't busy with her philanthropic endeavors, Ruby enjoyed spending her time reading, cooking, and engaging in various community service projects. Her warm smile and caring nature will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Although Ruby may no longer be with us in body, her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
