Anderson, age 89, of Kimball died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins.Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Kimball Church of Christ with Pastor Dale DePeel and Pastor Jerry Albert officiating. Burial will follow at the Kimball Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday, both at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church with Pastor Kevin White officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Kimball Church of Christ.Ruby Doreen Anderson was born on April 26, 1927 to John and Mabel (Blair) Stelton on the family farm near Kimball, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Kimball. At the age of 16, Ruby joined the Church of Christ, where she remained a faithful member all of her life. On July 16, 1949, Ruby was united in marriage to Paul Anderson at the parsonage of the Church of Christ in Kimball. Together, Ruby and Paul worked on their farm while raising their family. Ruby was a busy farm wife helping in the barn, in the fields, and caring for her pet chickens. Over the years, Ruby sewed a lot of clothes for both her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved tending to her large gardens. Ruby's faith and her church family were always important to her. She volunteered in the nursery at church for over 15 years, helped many years with VBS, as well as taught religious release time classes. Above all, Ruby treasured the time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Ruby is survived by her children, Paula (Dale) DePeel of Rochester, Elaine Anderson of Albertville, Bruce (Sandra) Anderson of South Haven, and Amy (Nick) Konz of Kimball; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years Paul; grandchild Adam Hansen; brothers Donald, Gilbert and Marvin Stelton; sisters Velma Stranlund and Jeanette Lenox; and an infant sister.
