Ruby was born April 1st 1951, in Raywick to the late Marlon and Grace Price Craven. She worked 42 years at Jim Beam Brands in Clermont and for the U.F.C.W. local 111D for 20-plus years. She graduated magna cum laude from Watterson College in 1993 with a diploma in medical assistance and of the Catholic faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Raye Riggs Simpson; and a brother, Joseph Edward Craven Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Jerry) Mattingly-Holman, of Jeffersontown; three sons, Tyronne Holman, of Mount Washington, Brian Holman of Bardstown, Tracey Mattingly (Susan), of Clermont, Fla.; a brother, Frank (Charlenia) Craven, of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Trenton Holman , Beverly Holman along with several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday Aug 15th with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Sam Filiatreau at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers family request that contributions be made to the Susan G. KomenBreast Cancer Research, PO Box 98060, Washington, DC 20090-8060 or the American Optometric Association (specifically for retinitis pigmentosa research). Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
