Platter, Ruby Irene 91 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Wichita, KS on September 29, 2016. She was born on January 12, 1925 to the late Frank and Della Atchley in Anderson, MO. Besides her children and grandchildren, her greatest joy was teaching Sunday School for more than 40 years, first at 13th Street Tabernacle, and then at Northland Cathedral. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord, her sisters, Naomi Edmonson and Osee Loftin; her brothers, Cleo, Joe, Ferrel, Paul and John Atchley. She is survived by: Sisters, Lou Alice Holderby, Pleasanton, TX, and Lola O'Neal, Lead Hill, AR; daughter, Joyce Young (Bill) Wichita, KS, son, Dale Platter, KCK; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Park Funeral Home, 3801 State Ave, KCK; Service will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St KCMO.
