Rudolph Mick1921 - 2016Rudolph "Rudy" Mick, 95, of Navarre, passed away December 1, 2016. Rudy was born on March 11, 1921, in Oakland, CA and spent his younger years in Whippany, NJ. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1938 where he served in various commands over the next 21 years. He was in aviation during
WWII flying in the PBY Catalina in the "Pacific Theater". After retirement, he pursued many career opportunities prior to entering Civil Service. Upon retiring from Civil Service, he moved to Navarre in 1976. He worked in real estate with Century 21.Rudy had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed bowling, square-dancing, camping, and fishing. He was an avid, amateur bass tournament fisherman and had a great passion for playing golf. He took pride in being a marshal for the PGA tournaments in the local area for over 20 years. His other enjoyments were gardening, painting, writing, and playing the organ. He loved playing board games, cards, bumper pool, and table shuffleboard with his grandchildren. He was especially proud of being an original member and helping build the Holley-Navarre Seniors Association building. He loved volunteering and making the pancakes for their pancake breakfasts.Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Marie "June" Mick; his son, Terry Mick; and his stepson, Mark Messner. Rudy is survived by his son, Ron (Ginny) Mick; stepdaughters, Marsha (Thomas) Lange and Michele Burnison (Stanley Manning); 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held 10:00 - 11:30 AM Friday, December 9, 2016 at Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre.
