Rudy "Max" ClaphamRudy "Max" Clapham, 76, passed away on February 22, 2017 at the Poudre Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Max was born on September 4, 1940 to Gordon and Hazel LaRilla (Culbertson) Clapham in Woodward, Oklahoma. He had a love for his country and entered military service in 1957 when he joined the Air Force as an Air Freight Specialist and continued this military service until 1961. In 1963 he joined the
United States Navy as an Airborne Radio Operator until the end of his service in 1967. Max returned to civilian life and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. He had a passion for construction which is evident as he owned a construction company, built a duplex out of adobe bricks that he made himself. His last construction project was building an airplane.Max welcomed a daughter, Yvonne, into his life in 1963 and married Teresita Tago in 1999. His wonderful sense of humor and faithful devotion to his family will be greatly missed.He is survived by his wife Teresita, daughter Yvonne (Don) Lease of Bridgeport, Nebraska. His grandchildren; Alicia Lease of Durham, North Carolina, Nick (Brittany) Lease of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Morgan Lease of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Austin Lease of Bridgeport, Nebraska; great-granddaughter Aly Lease of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. His sister-in-law, Bonnie Clapham of Loveland, Colorado; Nephew LaMar (Audra) Clapham of El Cajon, California and niece Kimberly (Cory) Schmidt of Loveland, Colorado. He also survived by several great-nephews and great-niece.Max was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers Gary, Bruce and Wade and sister Sue.Cremation has already taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland with a reception following at the Viegut Reception Center.
