Wagner, RufinaRufina M. Wagner, age 94 of Suring, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Rufina was born on February 23, 1922 to the late Richard and Mary (Schoss) Gardebrecht in the Town of How. Rufina married Roman Wagner at St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes on January 15, 1944. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Rufina worked at Lakeside Supper Club as a cook and did custodial work at Dr. Sandgren's office and the Suring Bank, where Rufina and Roman worked together. She was a very active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and served on the funeral committee. Rufina enjoyed gardening, especially with her husband, watching the birds, baking and cooking, embroidery, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.Rufina is survived by her daughter, Donna (Larry) Mehlberg of Stevens Point; a son, David Wagner of Suring; 4 grandchildren, Kurtis (Erin) Mehlberg, Kristin (Dr. Andrew) Alexander, Kenton (Melissa) Mehlberg, Shaun (Monica) Wagner; 8 great grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rufina was preceded in death by her husband, Roman; son Robert Wagner; 4 brothers, Leonard Gardebrecht, Herman Gardebrecht, Elmer Gardebrecht, Carl Gardebrecht; 3 sisters, Gertrude Kebschull, Esther Olson, Emma Heise.Visitation will be held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating. Rufina will be interred in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
