RUFUS HAWKINS, 73, of Ninety Six, South Carolina, passed on August 08, 2023. RUFUS was born on November 07, 1949. Born in Greenwood, He was the son of the late Junior Dick Hawkins and the late Susie Mae Lewis Hawkins. He was a member of Mays United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Mingo Hawkins, one brother, Charles "Rick" Hawkins, Sr. and one sister Belinda Sue Gray. He leaves to cherish his memories a special friend Joanne Brooks, two sons Larry (Lisa) Logan of Hodges S.C. and Carl (Melissa) Mingo of Trenton N.J.; five daughters Lourie (Keith) Williams, Sonya (Martin) Mingo, Antoinette (Moses) Johnson, Kim Livingston all of Trenton N.J. and Alicia Mingo of Greenwood S.C. Three brothers, William Hawkins Sr., George Hawkins Sr, and Terry (Louise) Hawkins Sr. all of Ninety-Six, S.C. three sisters, Gloria Chappelle, Annie (Michael) Williams and Brigitte (Kenneth) Chappelle, all of Ninety-Six; 26 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends to mourn his passing. Services are 12 Noon August 13 2023, at Mays United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Gerald Clinkscales. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 am. A burial will follow in the Ninety-Six Community Cemetery. Public viewing will be from 1pm to 6pm on August 12, 2023. The family is at the home of Annie Faye Williams 102 Golby’s Knob Ninety-Six and Kendra Gray, 106 Panther Drive Ninety-Six. Please be mindful and practice social distancing and wear a mask.
