Russell Todd Strobel, 53, of Martinsville, formerly of Vandalia, passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.Services were held at 7 p.m. on Monday at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Myers on Oct. 25, 2008, at Moriah Church of God in rural Casey.He was a 1981 graduate of Vandalia Community High Schoo. He and Melissa worked as self-employed online retailers. Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing and, most recently, had a passion for astronomy and studying the stars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife; mother, of Vandalia; children, Samantha, Rachel and Travis Strobel, and Adrianna and Kaitlin Conner; brothers, Rob Strobel and his wife Sharon of Vandalia, and Randy Strobel of Ramsey; many additional family members; friends, and Yorkie "Bella, pugs "Lilly" and "Frank," Chiweenie "Bruno."He was preceded in death by his father.
