Rudy attended Ohio University from 1939-1941 before leaving due to the death of both parents. While at OU, she met her future husband, Dwight E. Maul. She worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base during World War II while Dwight was a pilot for the Army Air Corp. They married on June 10, 1945. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Garden Club, and the Century Club. She loved playing all kinds of card games, especially Bridge and Shoot the Moon, camping, needlework, gardening and being with her family. In 2003, after the death of her husband, Rudy decided to move to Hilliard to be closer to her family. She loved condo living and made dear friends quickly, playing Hand and Foot Canasta almost every night. In 2014, Rudy moved into Carriage Court Assisted Living where she made close friends and enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.
