MIDDLEBURY — Ruth I. Beaty, 85, of Middlebury, Indiana, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Indiana. Mrs. Beaty was born on July 24, 1929, in LaGrange County, Indiana, to Clarence M. and Elva Rose (Clark) Milleman; they preceded her in death. Living her lifetime in LaGrange County, she worked for many years as a seamstress at Starcraft in Topeka, Indiana. Mrs. Beaty was a member of the Scott United Methodist Church in rural Shipshewana, Indiana, and the United Methodist Women of the church. She was an avid bowler and after she retired she enjoyed volunteering for many organizations On August 15, 1948, in Salem Center, Indiana, she married Kenneth Paul Beaty. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1977. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Rev. Denise and Garry Heller of Middlebury, Indiana, and Diann and Charles J. Jr. Bates of Muncie, Indiana; a son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Teri Beaty of Huntington, Indiana; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laura and John O'Dell of Homer, New York, and Lois Wylie of Shipshewana, Indiana; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clark and Carma Milleman of Burnettsville, Indiana, Von and Janet Milleman of Angola, Indiana, and Clair and Thelma Milleman of Warsaw, Indiana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, Indiana, with the Rev. Tammy Lugar officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 22, 2014, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
