Ruth Elizabeth Query Wells, known by her friends and family as Ibbie, passed away peacefully in her sleep early on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Sharon Towers. She was born on October 29, 1914 in Charlotte to Floy and Luke Query. She grew up, and lived most of her life in the Dixie community. She was a life-long member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in the Women's circle group and quilting club. She was married to Edmund "Ted" Wells on December 6, 1947. She graduated from Greensboro College and worked as a bookkeeper for Query, Spivey, McGee. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, boating and traveling, especially to the beach with her family. She was an avid bridge player. Ibbie is survived by her loving daughter Carolyn and her husband Bo Proctor, granddaughters Connie Wagner, and Nicole Proctor, and great-grandson Luke Wagner, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Laura McLaughlin, Nancy Byrum, and two brothers Dr. Luke Query and William Query. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Monday November 21st, 2016 at 2:00pm at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow the service in the church's Family Life Center.The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Sharon Towers and Hospice for their loving care.
