Ruth I. Gerard1926 - 2013Ruth I. Gerard, 87, of Weyauwega, died on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. She was born on May 8, 1926, in Antioch, Ill., the daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Krahn) Paasch. She moved to Bristol, Wis., as a young child, where she attended grade school. She later graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha. On Feb. 2, 1946, Ruth married Charles H. Gerard in Crown Point, Indiana. Ruth was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha. She worked at Coopers International for 10 years, and Rainfair in Racine for 10 years. After moving to Tustin, Ruth worked with Charles and her son, Kent, at Poygan Sports Bar. Charles preceded her in death on Jan. 14. 2005. Ruth enjoyed fishing, doing crossword puzzles, quilting, and making lap robes for the veterans at King for many years. Ruth is survived by her son, Kent (Cassandra), Weyauwega; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Craig) Fredriksen, Neenah; a grandson, Patrick (Julie) Holmes, Hanover, Penn.; five great-grandchildren, Harley, Hayden and Cassi Fredriksen, and Brennen and Brody Holmes; a sister, Helen Dalke, Kenosha, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Brody, and a sister Mildred Fisher. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7104 39th Ave, Kenosha. Rev Tom Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
