Ruth Ingeborg Harrington, 91, passed away November 4, 2016 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. A funeral Mass will be at 3 pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2111 Muldoon Road. Father Dan Hebert will officiate. A reception will follow the service. Ruth was born on April 30, 1925 in Munich, Germany. After WWII Ruth worked for the American Military Police headquarters in Munich as an interpreter. It was there that she met her husband Bob Harrington. After several moves with the military she moved to Alaska in 1963 making Anchorage her home. She loved Alaska and for many years she enjoyed hiking, skiing, biking and camping. She also enjoyed traveling, word games, crossword puzzles and card games. She worked for the AK State Housing Authority and the AK Dept of Fish and Game until she retired in the early 80's. She was a long-time member of St Patrick's Catholic Church. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Ellen McKamey (Bob McKamey), Gloria Menzel (Mike Menzel); stepson, James Harrington; grandchildren, Jennifer Osmundson, Sean McKamey, Tom McKamey, Corey Menzel, Kyle Menzel, Cliff Harrington, Bob Harrington, Chris Harrington and great-grandchildren.
