Matuzak, Ruth M.Ruth M. Matuzak, 91, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. The daughter of the late Art and Marie (Salscheider) Nelson was born on October 10, 1925 in Green Bay. On September 22nd, 1945, Ruth married her sweetheart, Albert Matuzak. Together they enjoyed many years at their cabin on Town Corner Lake with their neighbors, Jack and Lidya Zwick. Ruth and Al traveled extensively, going on many fishing trips throughout Canada, as well as nationwide bus trips. They always kept a large garden with a bounty of vegetables and raspberries. Both Ruth and Al were blessed with a plethora of friends and neighbors over the years, and Ruth enjoyed being an excellent hostess for them all.Ruth was brought up on a small farm in Flintville and didn't have electricity until she reached high school. The last survivor of a family of seven brothers and sisters, she understood the simple yet hard work of farm life. Ruth enjoyed baking, quilting, and stitching with her many lifelong friends and neighbors. She was also heavily involved in the church functions at SS. Edward & Isidore. Above all else, Ruth's biggest priority was her family, and she spent countless hours with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly. Ruth is survived by her husband, Albert; three sons, Randall (Darlene) Matuzak, Charles (Debra) Matuzak, and Clark Matuzak; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Louise "Tootie" (Don) Vanderperen, Nathalie (Ross) Shipley; brothers, Art (Hilda) Nelson, Mike (Gen) Nelson, Larry Nelson, and Ken Nelson. Friends and family are encouraged to gather at SS. Edward & Isidore, 3667 Flintville Road, Suamico, WI 54313 on Wednesday, May 24 from 9:00am to 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Rev. David J. Hoffman officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
