Ruth Jackson, 71, of Douglas, Georgia, passed on June 15, 2023. Ruth was born on April 20, 1952.Ruth Susan Jackson, age 71, passed away on June 15, 2023, in Douglass, Georgia. She was born on April 20, 1952, in Tazewell, Virginia, to James and Josephine Jackson. Ruth was a devoted wife to Oakie Herman Jackson Jr., who preceded her in death, and a loving mother to four children. She was also a part-owner and operator of the family business and a full-time homemaker.

Ruth will be remembered for her incredible kindness, compassion, and love for her family and friends. She had a passion for cooking, especially anything with chocolate, and enjoyed watching the gameshow network and football games. Above all, she loved dancing with her husband and spending time with her family. Ruth's hugs were her specialty, and she was always ready to lend a compassionate ear and offer advice.

Ruth is survived by her three children, Pamela Jackson, Timothy Jackson, and Johnny Jackson, as well as eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Dailey Harrison (Bill). Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Oakie Herman Jackson Jr., son, Oakie Herman Jackson III, and grandchildren, James Jackson and Thomas Logan Jackson.
