Ruth Thamar Johansen, 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Oct. 25, 2010. She was born on Sept. 18, 1926 in Denmark. She married Svend Johansen in 1947 and they had two children. Ruth and her family immigrated to the United States in 1959 not knowing a word of English.She worked for Utah State University until taking an early retirement. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling back and forth to Denmark to visit her siblings.She is survived by her son, Ernst (Karen), two grandchildren, Mireille (Greg), Troels (Becky) and four great-grandchildren, Kaelei, Haeden, Talia and Dane. She will be greatly missed by all of us.She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister, and her daughter. Upon request there will be no services.
