Ryan J. Chafin, 39MANCHESTER, NH - Ryan J. Chafin, 39, Manchester, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his residence, a victim of homicide.He was born on January 31, 1978 to Larry and Lynda (Rittenhouse) Chafin. Ryan spent his early years in Summitville and graduated from Daleville High School-Class of 1996. He also attended Eastern University in Philadelphia. Ryan spent a majority of his life being involved with social work and served as the director/manager at Pathways in Battleborough, Vermont. More recently he worked for the United State Postal Service in Salem and Nashua New Hampshire. Ryan was skilled in artistic painting and woodworking.Survivors include his son, Linden Chafin, Manchester, NH; brother, Jason (Sheri) Chafin, Alexandria; nephew and niece, Morgan and Ethan Chafin; aunts and uncles, Bill (Toby) Chafin, Alexandria, Linda (Bill) Weaver, Anderson, Cherilyn Chafin, Alexandria and Schon Harunaga, Hawaii; special friends, Janna and Fred Hollowell, Daleville; and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his mother in 1988; his father in 2015; and his uncle, Ron Chafin in 2009.Services honoring Ryan's life and legacy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Rev. Leon Pomeroy officiating.
