Sally Alexander Barnes, 83Muncie - Sally Alexander Barnes, 83, of Muncie, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis following a brief illness.Sally was born on February 9, 1934 in Muncie, Indiana to the late John and Phoebe "Ruth" (Chamness) Alexander. She graduated from Burris High School and Ball State University. She married James P. Barnes on August 3, 1957. She was a homemaker, junior buyer at Ball Stores, owner of Barnwood Interiors, and retired from City Lights at the age of 80. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi, a Ball State sorority. She was also a longtime member of the Delaware County Country Club and Grace Episcopal Church in Muncie.Sally is survived by her three children, Robert Barnes (wife Mary Beth) of Carmel, Kirby Troyan (husband Tom) of Carmel, and Joe Barnes (wife Cathy) of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Cheri Barnes of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Jan Lockwood (husband Jeff) of Indianapolis; and six grandchildren, Cati Barnes, Ryan Barnes, John Troyan, Jay Troyan, Carly Barnes, and Jon Barnes.Sally is preceded in death by her husband, James P. Barnes in 2000 after 42 years of marriage; and two children, J. Christopher Barnes (infant) and Jon Barnes.Visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. followed by a church service to celebrate Sally's life at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church, 300 South Madison Street in Muncie, IN.
