This obituary is administered by:

A life well lived

Sally Lightell, also known as the knitting enthusiast, soap opera fanatic, and dedicated Saints fan, passed away on July 7, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on November 19, 1964, and brought joy and laughter to everyone she met.

Sally married her beloved spouse Mo in 1985, and together they raised five wonderful children: Carey McNeil, Mary Forrest, Kaitlyn Lightell, Avery Lightell, and Jo'Lernie Maves. She was also a loving grandmother to more than ten grandchildren. She has one of the biggest hearts known to man, she was courageous and a good listener.

When she wasn't busy cheering on her favorite football team or keeping up with the drama on The Young and the Restless, Sally could be found with a pair of knitting needles in hand, creating beautiful works of art for her loved ones.

She faced many challenges in her life, but none could compare to the battle she fought against colon cancer. Despite the odds, Sally remained positive and fought with all her strength until the very end.

Sally Lightell will be remembered for her fiery spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

You can to the family or in memory of Sally Lightell.
