Sally Ann Chambers Roberts, 78, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at her home in Kingwood, Texas. Sally was born on November 26, 1936 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Winona Lundberg and George W. Chambers Jr. She attended Ottumwa High School and Iowa State University where she was active as a cheerleader and a member of Delta Delta Delta. She received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics and soon after married her childhood sweetheart David Roberts on March 30, 1958. Sally taught school in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska and Irving, Texas. Sally worked for GBC as a sales representative in Houston. Sally was an avid golfer most of her life winning multiple club championships, hitting 6 hole-in-ones and playing around the world from the Himalayas to Carnoustie and St. Andrews, Scotland. Sally was on the board of directors for Golfers Against Cancer, a charity organization formed by her husband Dave's golf buddies when he was diagnosed with cancer in 1997. Sally is survived by three of her children, Dr. Carin Roberts-Wollmann of Blacksburg, VA, Charles Roberts of Grand Prairie, TX, Cristen Hewett of Austin, TX and seven grandchildren, Nick and Katharine Kratkiewicz, Eric, Stephanie and Jessica Wollman, and Coleman and Cameron Hewett. Sally is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Dave, eldest daughter Carole Kratkiewicz, brother George Chambers and sister Jill Dolby.
