March 14, 1932 - July 30, 2017Sammie Lee Cavanaugh returned to her heavenly Father on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was born on March 14, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, and recently celebrated her 85th birthday, with more than 50 of her family in attendance. She is survived by her brother Gerald Graham, her children Mary Ledford (Kerry) of Garden Ridge, Jim Cavanaugh (Frieda) of Houston, Tim Cavanaugh (Janice) of Waller,Michael Cavanaugh (Kim) of St. Louis, and Jeff Cavanaugh (Emily) of Corpus Christi. She also left behind 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Sammie attended Fox Tech High School in San Antonio. She worked at USAA and as the office manager for a State Farm Insurance Agency for many years. A rosary will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, with viewing from 5:00 until 9:00. The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3. A reception will follow at the church.
