Sammy Joseph Alfano, Sr. 1944-2016Sammy Joseph Alfano, Sr. passed away on Sunday, the 10th of December 2016 at his home in Katy, Texas at the age of 72.Sammy was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend who lived an extraordinary life. He was born on the 21st of March, 1944 in Houston, Texas, the beloved son of Frank and Annie Alfano. He was the youngest of four children. Sammy started working promotions in the music industry in 1967 and decided to move to Northridge, California where he worked for ABC Records, Capital Records and Elektra Asylum Records. He became one of the top promotion men in the music business, working with big artists like The Eagles, Jackson Browne, and Eddie Rabbit along with many others.He moved back to Houston, Texas in 1980, where he started his own business, Sammy Alfano Promotions and found artists like Clint Black and Clay Walker.Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Ann Alfano and niece, Dianne Provenzano. He is survived by his sons, Frank (Dino) Alfano and Sammy Alfano, Jr. and his daughters, Tami Russell, Tori Alfano, and Jacqueline (Paige) Bay and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Lindsey, Clara, Mary Grace, Kelsey, Kasey and Paige; sister, Carolyn Hughes; brother, Vincent Alfano and wife, Elia; nephews, John Michael Provenzano and wife, Nancy, Frankie Provenzano, John David (JD) Hughes and wife, LauraLee; nieces, Lisa Covert and husband, Todd, Marianette Provenzano Ryan and husband, Jim.Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Sunday, the 18th of December 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, the 19th December 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056. A celebration of Sammy J. Alfano's life will follow at Mo's Place, 21940 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77450.You will be missed beyond words by all of us…until we see you again!
