Sammy Joe BishopSammy Joe Bishop, 56, of Krum, formerly of Denton went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2016. He was born on July 15, 1960 in Denton, TX. He was raised by Rose and Sam Taylor. He married the love of his life Cathy Anne Bruce in Denton on December 16, 1989.Sammy attended Denton High School and was a member of Glory of Zion International Ministries. Sammy served as a peace office for the Denton County Sheriff's Department for 15 years.Sammy is survived by his wife of 26 yrs. Cathy Bishop, two sons, Stephen Bishop and Stetson Bishop all of Krum, TX., daughter, Samantha Mize and her five children, mother, Judy Smith, brothers, David Bishop and wife Debbie of Denton and Bobby Bishop and wife Teddy of Palestine, several nieces and nephews, extended family, mother-in-law, Joanne Bruce, sister-in-laws, Angela Tate, Joleen Martinez, Ruth Cook, brother-in-law, Jeff Martinez.He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Bishop, Rose and Sam Taylor and Truman Taylor.Visitation will be Sunday November 13, 2016 at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 2-4 P.M. A celebration of life will be held on November 14, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Glory of Zion International at the Global Spheres Center in Corinth with a graveside service to follow on November 14, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Park at 2:00 P.M.In Lieu of flowers the family has requested Memorials be made in Sammy's name to the Glory of Zion International, Ministries P.O.
