Born on May 20, 1969, Samuel was a beloved member of the community known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a dedicated friend, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Samuel, born in the Mississippi delta, spent his life working on the farm, where his dedication and work ethic were second to none. He found joy in early mornings, quiet fields, and the words of his savior. His heart was gentle—always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Samuel will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for the outdoors, and his passion for life. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Moore, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage. He was also the proud father of James, Sanders, and Millie, who will forever carry his strength, kindness, and unbridled joy in their hearts. To his family, he was more than an uncle—he was a mentor, a storyteller, and a steady presence who could make anyone feel seen and cared for. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Samuel’s life will be held on November 23 at 2:30 pm at St Johns Episcopal Church in Memphis, TN.
