Samuel R. "Richard" Shenk, Sr.November 15, 1934 - August 9, 2017PalmyraSamuel R. "Richard" Shenk, Sr., 82, passed away on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at his residence. He was the husband of Sandra E. (Martino) Shenk, with whom he celebrated 21 years in marriage.Richard was born on November 15, 1934 in Lebanon to the late Elmer and Irene (Reist) Shenk. He was a long-distance truck driver, and loved to tell stories about his experiences. He was a member of Fontana Union Chapel. He enjoyed tinkering with anything and everything. Richard was always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter what the need, to anyone in need. He was also known for his sense of humor and having that twinkling in his eye. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Diane and her husband, Jim Smith, Myrna and her husband, Eric Walker, Samuel Shenk, Jr. and his wife, Gina, Richard Funck and his wife, Jill, Tammy and her husband, Ray Hiestand; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Myrna Heminway. He was preceded in death by his daughter, June Young; and his brothers, Ira, Edgar, and Miles.Funeral services will be held on Monday August 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. from Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in EUB Cemetery, Annville.
