Samuel Fredrick Syracuse III passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 13, 2016. Sam was born on June 13, 1964 in Buffalo NY to Samuel Fredrick Syracuse II and Lucille (Lu) Syracuse. He attended school at Simi Valley High School and graduated in 1981. Upon graduation he joined the United States
Army as a Mechanic. After his service he returned to Simi Valley, CA. He worked at various local bars before he began his career in the maintenance industry. Some of his jobs correlated to managing large apartment complexes parallel to mobile home parks. He was a handy man for all tasks. He then progressed into owning his own maintenance company called Sam's Rocky Mountain Maintenance and Painting LLC, picking up various jobs to help the business thrive. Sam was very passionate for holding the greatest "Chicken BBQ's" with the intent of pulling family members together often. He was known for always having the biggest smile on his face and a spatula in his hand. He loved the outdoors, camping, and most of all loved sitting around the camp fire or table creating memories with family. Sam was grateful for having shared his life with Maureen A, West his wife, although separated. Son, Kevin Samuel Syracuse, his wife Candace and two grandchildren Cecilia and Ryleigh. Daughter, Antoinette Celeste Syracuse and grandchildren, Jeremiah, Alexis and Brielle, daughter Kaitlin Rachael, her husband Tom Clark with their kids Kadence, Kaysia and Thomas. Sam is also survived by his four siblings; Annette Mae Kasuda and Joe Golding, Barbara Ann and husband Steven Galbo, John Michael Syracuse and Alisa Michelle Olson, Chris Syracuse and Danielle Scaranuzzo. Sam is also survived by many nieces, nephews and loved ones. Samuel F. Syracuse III, as noted above, is a Veteran of the United States Army. Please grace us with your presence by attending a graveside ceremony, rendering his final Salute with Military Funeral Honors. Funeral services 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 2-5:00 p.m., Thursday and from 8-9:30 a.m., Friday at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Cops Fighting Cancer or House of Neighborly Services in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
