Sandra Lee (Hoffman) Shreckengost, age 72, of Brookville PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 2, 2016, in the comfort of her home. She was born on July 20, 1943, to the late Harold C. and Geneva P. (Dinger) Hoffman, in Punxsutawney, PA. On June 29, 1962, she married Dale W. Shreckengost in Worthville PA; Dale survives her. She had an extensive work history that started at Sylvania in Brookville and then with the Brookville Glove Factory. She then spent some time selling Home Interiors until she went to work as a secretary for Representative Sam H. Smith. She eventually retired from the Hanley and Bird Gas Company. Sandy was an active member of the Stanton United Methodist Church where she served on the funeral luncheon committee. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Red Hats Society, the Brookville Area Senior Citizens Club, and the Stanton United Methodist Women. Sandy loved to ride her Motor Trike and she was an avid scrapbooker. She also enjoyed card making and bowling. She loved the beach and going on vacations with her family, or simply just traveling. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially tending to her flower garden. She took pride in taking care of her family; she especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Sandy is survived by 1 son, David (Wanda) Shreckengost of Hernando, FL; 2 daughters, LeeAnn Hinderliter of Brookville, PA; Aimee Rheaume of Worthville, PA; 1 sister, Beverly Lingenfelter of Lakewood, NY; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jake, Ridge, Courtney, and Dale Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren, Addison and Hadley. Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 4, 2016, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Stanton United Methodist Church, 628 Stanton Rd., Brookville PA, 15825, beginning at 10:00am and officiated by Rev. Roger Howard. Interment will take place at the Worthville Cemetery in Ringgold Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
