Sandy StrappePEORIA - Sandra "Sandy" J. Strappe, 76, of Peoria, formerly of Elmwood, passed away at 10:11 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.She was born on August 18, 1940, to Thomas and Fern (Brockelhurst) Barnabee in Canton. Sandy married James Strappe on October 10, 1959, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Farmington. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1999. Surviving are two children, Jean Anne (Larry) Dikeman of Colorado Springs and Karen (Don) Ramp of Elmwood; one brother, Bob Barnabee; and one grandchild, Justin Strappe.She was preceded in death by one son, Tom Strappe; one brother, David Barnabee; and one grandchild, Dakota Ramp. Sandy was a housewife for many years that allowed her to be a room mother for all her kids' school parties. When she lived in Bellevue, she taught piano lessons. She then worked at Peoria Airport, and later as a real estate appraiser.Sandy was also a past member of the Peoria Motorcycle Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, boating, water skiing, canoeing and camping and loved entertaining for her family and Bunco group.A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elmwood on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 11 a.m., with a one hour visitation prior to the service. A two hour visitation will also be held the night before, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday night, November 17, 2016, at the church. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in rural Brimfield.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L.
