Sandy TaylorGrenadaSondra Hyde Holman Taylor, 50 years of age, a truly loving wife, mother, daughter , sister, and friend, passed away Thursday, May 4th, 2017, in her sleep at her home in Grenada, MS.Sandy was born on October 26, 1966, in Jackson, MS. She attended St. Andrews Episcopal School and graduated from Jackson Preparatory School. After graduation, she attended the University of Mississippi and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated from Southern Methodist University and attended Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, England.Sandy moved to Grenada, 25 years ago as a new bride to Dr. Walter Travis Taylor, Jr. (Buddy). Her devotion to her husband and three children did not keep her from being involved in every aspect of her community. Her love of children was evidenced by her involvement in the Grenada Junior Auxiliary, the Grenada Arts Partnership, the Kirk Academy School Board, and the Southern Christian Services for Children and Youth, where she served as a state board member tirelessly soliciting financial and volunteer involvement.Everyone who came in contact with Sandy immediately felt her kind and loving spirit. Her life permeated grace. She was a "first responder," always there for anyone who needed her regardless of who you were or where you came from.Her philanthropic spirit was witnessed by her everyday warmth and generosity; with little boasting, but major impact on many lives.Missing her will be: Buddy Taylor, her husband; her sons, Travis, 21 years of age, Holman, 18 years of age; and her daughter, Skylar, 15 years of age.She also leaves her Mom, Sondra Holman; her brother, WH Holman III (Hank); and her sisters, Holly Buchanan (Brooks), and Janie Maloney (Steve), and a hosts of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Henry Holman, Jr.Sandy was a blessing to this world, and her loss will be felt by family, friends, and beyond. Proverbs 31:8-10These words describe her life and no more words are needed….Visitation is scheduled Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Grenada. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 7, at 2 p.m. also at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The committal will take place at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Parkway Memorial Cemetery,1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS.
