HUTCHERSON, Sara Sara Samuel Hutcherson of Atlanta, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Sara was born on September 3, 1934 in Bainbridge, GA, received a Bachelors Degree from Morris Brown College and a Masters Degree from Fisk University. On July 26, 1965 Sara married James Ervin Hutcherson and had four children. They divorced in 1986 and she never remarried. Sara was a science teacher with Atlanta Public Schools (mostly at Fulton High School) and retired after more than 30 years of service. Sara exercised her love for travel organizing trips for local churches, school groups and members of the community. She was a member of World Changers Church since the 1980's, served in many capacities, and lent her contralto voice to the choir. Sara's dynamic personality, exuberant energy and passion for travel will be greatly missed. She is survived by three daughters, Mia, Renee and Tracy, one son, James Ervin Jr, three grandchildren, Aurielle, Luther and Robert, one brother, Waymon Samuel, one sister, Jacquelyn Elizabeth Hutcherson, two nephews, Michel (Muriel) Samuel and Stephen Thomas, two great nephews, Max and Alex, a host of cousins, other relatives, beloved "Alum Sisters" from her 1958 Morris Brown class, as well as a host of dear friends. A Celebration of Life service (organized by Legacy Funeral Homes in Jonesboro) will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 2pm at World Changers Church in College Park, GA. A wake service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19th at 7pm at Legacy.
