Ehlen, 59, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.Sara was born on May 7, 1957 in Gary, IN to Frederick and Lois Ehlen, both of whom preceded her in death.Left to cherish her memory are her longtime volunteer guardian, Susan Wolf; her housemates, Chris, Tyrone, Megan and Brenda; Rose, a special advocate from years past; her staff at Mosaic and Logan through the years, especially Gordon and Jesse, who have all loved her like she was their own family; and many, many friends whom she touched in her life journey.If you were fortunate to have known Sara, you know that the squeeze of her hand was the strongest grip from the tiniest woman and it was her sign of love. You know that her taking your hand and touching her face was her sign of love. You know that her favorite color was red. You know that her one-of-a-kind laugh was contagious. And you know that when we release red balloons Tuesday afternoon, she will have a bigger smile than she already does!Visitation for Sara will be on Tuesday, November 29 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services at 11:00 am in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
