Sara J. Lammers, 66, of Oostburg passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.Sara was born on September 8, 1950 in Sheboygan to Robert and Beatrice (Morkin) Visser. Sara was a 1969 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On April 1, 1972 she married Robert K. Lammers at Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls. She obtained her LPN in 1977 and graduated from Lakeshore Technical Institute in 1988 with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Nursing. She worked at St. Nicholas Hospital ICU in Sheboygan.Sara had a love for all types of music and playing piano and organ. She volunteered for various activities within 4H, enjoyed fishing, cooking, reading her cookbooks, traveling across the country with Bob, and politics. Sara loved her family, throwing parties, family gatherings, nights at the hockey rink and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Sara is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bob; one daughter, Teri (Scott) Hittman of Oostburg; two sons, Bryon (Noelle) Lammers of Shawano and James (Angela) Lammers of Sheboygan; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Cassandra, Samantha, Jessica, Aaron, Faith, Bryce, Melody and Sylvia; three great grandchildren, Bekkam, Aerith and Nicholas; two sisters, Norma Anderson of Menasha and Linda (Charles) Thurber of Sheboygan Falls; one sister-in-law, Gloria (Bob) Dolfin of Oostburg; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Sharon) Hornes of Cleveland and David (Rita) Lammers of Sheboygan Falls. She is further survived by a lifelong friend, Betty Zimmerman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beatrice Visser and her father and mother-in-law, Warren and Hulda "Tutie" Lammers.A funeral service to celebrate Sara's life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Jon MacDonald officiating.Relatives and friends may gather on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the funeral home from 11am until the time of service at 2pm.
