Sarah Ruth Murdoch11/07/1935 - 03/24/2015Sarah Ruth Murdoch, 79, formerly of Blackfoot, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 24, 2015, in Pocatello, Idaho.Sarah was born on November 7, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama to William Lee Roueche Jr. and Ruth Manasco.Sarah met, fell in love with, and married the love of her life, Edwin Murdoch. They met shortly after high school at the local YMCA in El Paso. They were married St. Clements Episcopal Church in El Paso. Sarah and Ed enjoyed 60 years of marriage and raised two children; Dr. Matthew and Susannah. Ed and Sarah started their lives together in El Paso and moved to New Mexico in 1993. In 2002 they followed their grandchildren and moved to Blackfoot, Idaho.One of Sarah's greatest joys was painting. She was an avid painter and loved to paint with water colors and oils. She also worked with ceramics, enamels and various other art projects. She was also a nationally accredited master floral design judge and flower show judge. She ran her own business "Sunflower" which was a custom floral business in both El Paso and Cloudcroft, New Mexico. She was a member of the El Paso Symphony Guild and the PEO. She was a den mother and Girl Scout Leader. She devoted many hours to helping Barbara Driscoll through the many years in El Paso.She had a deep love for her family and a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved plants and could grow anything. She loved children and was often an extra mom to those who needed love. Sarah was deeply involved in St. Clements Episcopal Church. She was District Director and past President of El Dedon Verde. She also ran a wedding business in her home. Sarah is survived by her son, Dr. Matthew (Lauren) Murdoch, of Blackfoot, a daughter, Susannah (Anthony) Cuesta, of L.A., California, her grandchildren, Kia, Ryan, and Roman, her sisters, Mary Harris, of Texas and Vicki Mitchell, of Louisiana.She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Murdoch, her parents William and Ruth Roueche, and her brother William Lee Roueche Jr.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 72 N. Shilling Ave, Blackfoot. Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hawkerfuneralhome.com.
