Scott CaplingerCLARKSBURG: Scott Alan Caplinger, 53, of Clarksburg, died unexpectedly at 12:19 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis. He was born on June 6, 1963 in Chillicothe, the son of Paul C. and Phyllis A. Walters Caplinger.Surviving are his parents, Paul and Phyllis Caplinger of Clarksburg, one niece; Jessi Lynn Hines of Chillicothe, one grandniece; Allison Kay Kempton and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents; Phillip and Eunice Baxter Walters and Fred and Odena Caplinger and one sister, Kathi Caplinger Lemaster.Scott attended Clarksburg Elementary Special Education, the Pioneer School and Adult Workshop. He participated in Special Olympics for several years and was an avid bowler. He was a member of the Dry Run United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, Clarksburg. Friends and relatives my visit with the Caplinger family on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
