Scott A. McCloudHyde Park - Scott A. McCloud, 61, a resident of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, March 26, 2017.He was born on March 2, 1956 in San Francisco, CA and was the son of the late William Edward McCloud and Marie Rose Brosset McCloud. After high school, Scott graduated from SUNY Albany and later earned a Master's Degree from Sienna College.He worked as a Senior Probation Officer for the Dutchess County Office of Probation and Community Corrections for over 18 years, where he met his loving wife, Sheryl, who was also a probation officer.On April 1, 2013, in Poughkeepsie, Scott married the former Sheryl Zuna (nee Manning). Mrs. McCloud survives at their home in Hyde Park. Although only married a short time, Scott and Sheryl enjoyed 14 years together before his death.In addition to his wife, Scott is survived by two step-children, Alyssa and Alex Zuna, of Hyde Park; granddaughter, Carissa LaJoy, of Troy, NY; sister, Claudette Moro, and her husband, Sev, of Albany; sister, Evelyn Bell of Arizona; his first wife, Janet Brooks; and Scott's best friends of more than 40 years, Willie and Geraldine James, of Albany. Scott referred to Willie and Geraldine as his second parents and they called him their "son". Scott was especially fond of his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Berenice Manning, of Hyde Park. He called his in-laws "Ma and Pa Kettle" and loved spending time with them. Scott is also survived by his brother-in-law, John Manning, and his wife, Teresa, of Beaufort, SC; brother-in-law, Gary Manning, and his wife, Liz, of Hyde Park; brother-in-law, Don Manning, and his wife, Rose Ann, of Pleasant Valley; brother-in-law, Scott Manning, of Poughkeepsie; several nieces and nephews; and his seven feline companions. Most people will remember Scott as an avid New England Patriots fan. He achieved a life long dream of attending the Super Bowl in Arizona where his team defeated the Seattle Seahawks. He was devoted to his team and enjoyed friendly rivalries with his family and colleagues at work. Scott was a British motorcycle enthusiast, loving Triumphs most of all. He was also known as "The Cat Man" as he loved cats and was always saving strays, much to the chagrin of his wife. Scott was a loving husband, family member, friend and co-worker. He will be missed by many.In keeping with Scott's wishes, cremation has taken place.Calling hours will be from 11am to 1pm on Friday, March 31st at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park.
