Johnson-WetzelAge: 22 • VeronaShane Edward Johnson-Wetzel, 22, of 10 Eastgate Drive, Verona, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.Mr. Wetzel was born on November 4, 1994, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, a son of John Wetzel and the late Mickie Lynn Johnson-Wetzel.Shane was a self-employed roofing contractor and a 2013 graduate of Fort Defiance High School where he enjoyed football. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and many other sports.In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Juanita Smith and Billie Cutright.Surviving in addition to his father; is a brother, Joshua Johnson; a sister, Taia Johnson-Wetzel all of Verona; a grandfather, Nelson Smith of Swoope; niece and nephew, Kayleigh and Zane of Verona; and numerous extended family and many friends also survive.The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.A Celebration of life will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Larry Owens.It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to John Wetzel, P.O.
