BENTON, Wis. — Shane W. Holder, 23, of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016.
Shane was born on Nov. 24, 1992 to Michael and Jennifer (Coble) Holder in Scotland County. He was a graduate from Benton High School in Benton, Wisconsin. He worked as a groundskeeper and maintenance for the Palace Campground in Galena, Illinois, for two years. Shane enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, golf, music, working on cars, time spent with his two children, family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jeffrey Todd Coble; a niece, Leticia Holder-Tavares; and two great-grandmothers, Betty Ekes and Louise Coble.
Shane is survived by his mother, Jennifer Pruitt of Benton; his two children, Jeffrey and Josaphyne Holder; mother of his children, Rachel Lescak of Hazel Green, Wisconsin; his father, Michael Holder of North Carolina; five siblings, Ashley Holder of Orville, Ohio, Jason Pruitt and Kaydance Pruitt both of Benton, Kassie Pruitt and partner Scott McCarthy of Benton and Kylie Pruitt of North Carolina; his maternal grandparents, Harry and Barbara Coble of Clearwater, Florida; a maternal great-grandfather, Edward Ekes of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; paternal grandparents, Billy and Daffy Holder of Ellerbe; along with many friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Palace Campgrounds in Galena, Illinois, with the Rev. Calvin Hughes officiating.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the Palace Campgrounds in Galena. The family asks everyone to wear their favorite camouflage clothing in memory of Shane. Shane gave the gift of life as an organ donor.
The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City, Wisconsin, is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, a Shane W. Holder Memorial Fund has been established.
