KIMMELL — Shane O. Jackson, age 45, of Kimmell, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 23, 1971, the son of Russell and Sherry (Smith) Jackson in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On Oct. 17, 1995, he married Robin Heppner in Albion, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Robin Jackson of Kimmell, Indiana; three children, Brittany Jackson and her fiance, Caden Blevins, of Millersburg, Indiana, and Jacob Jackson and Mathew Jackson, both of Kimmell, Indiana; his parents, Russell and Sherry Jackson of Kimmell, Indiana; nine siblings, Nichole (Keith) Johnston, Kari Jackson, Jeremiah (Tasha) Jackson, Charlene (Shane) Martin-Van Ness, Chrystal Harroff, Cody Harroff, Cammi (Andres) Vallejo, Dassia Amsler, and Ryan Jackson; brother and sisters-in-law, Donald (DeAnna) Heppner, Penny (Gary) Piotrowski, and Billie Jo (Frank) Quinn; his mother-in-law, Rosemary Heppner; along with numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished deeply. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law. Shane's family meant more to him than anything and he loved taking trips with them to Tennessee. He graduated from West Noble High School in 1989 and had a lifetime love of learning. Shane had just earned his bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from IPFW. He was known as a peacemaker among his family and friends and had a special gift for communicating and connecting to others. Shane also had a knack for giving nick names to everyone, and couldn't call people by their real names, no matter how serious the situation. He believed in taking the right road instead of the easy one. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shane's life together at Yeager Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, from 2-5 p.m. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center.
