Kempf, 38, , formerly of York, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, Pa.Shannon was born on March 8, 1977, in Bryn Mawr, daughter of Frank and Sharon Kempf of York.She did volunteer work at York Hospital and at the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry. She was a member of the Schwenckfeld Chime Choir and Immanuel Church of the Nazarene, Lansdale. She was a 1995 graduate of West York High School and received her post high school degree from Hiram G. Andrews Vocational School in Johnstown. In addition to her parents, Shannon is survived by two sisters, Megan Citro, wife of Greg of of Maple Glen, and Lindsay DeVecchis, wife of Frank of Ambler; a brother, Michael Kempf, husband of Sherri of Pittsburgh; maternal grandmother, Nancee McManus of Wall Twp., N.J.; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousinsThe viewing will be held from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York, with the Rev. Daniel Mitzel as the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry, 628 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
