ASHLEY — Shannon L. Stanley, 26, of Ashley, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at The Ohio State University Medical Center following a three-week illness.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1990 in Marion to Matthew D. Stanley of Marengo and Lucy Powers of Ashley. A graduate of Buckeye Valley High School in 2009, she had resided in Ashley the majority of her life. Gifted in the mediums of art and writing, she attended the Vineyard Church in Sunbury.
In her younger years, she loved climbing tree's; loved all animals and would bring them home. She wrote poetry, loved gardening and flowers and liked socializing with everyone. She had a great insight on life. She could meet someone and immediately be able to relate and connect. Above all else, she loved being a mother to her son, Alex Chase Santho, and her daughter, Leina Lucille Santho, and especially enjoyed the trips to the park and the zoo.
In addition to her children and parents she is also survived by her brother, Chad (Bethany) Wallace of Logan; sister, Malaya Stanley (Spencer) of Delaware; paternal grandmother, Dody Stanley; paternal aunt, Deb (Sam) Ferrell; maternal aunts, Lori (JoAnn) Powers, Pam (Mike) Wheeler, Kathleen (Sam) Partin; maternal uncles, Bobby Powers and David (Pam) Martin; niece, Madison; nephew, Logan; and numerous cousins, great-aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, David Stanley; maternal grandparents, Rose and Adam Martin; maternal grandfather, Peanut Powers; and Aunt Erin Vickers.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at which time services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Bennett, Brown, Rodman & Snyder Funeral Home in Ashley. Burial will follow in Ashley Union Cemetery.
Immediately following the graveside service, everyone in attendance is invited to a Celebration of Shannon's Life at the Oxford Township Hall, Shoemaker Road, Ashley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shannon Stanley Go Fund Me Account or to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
