Sharon L. (Hale) McSpaddenJanuary 12, 1947 - December 14, 2015Florence - Sharon was born on January 12, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho to her parents, Ed and Irita Hale. She passed away at home in Florence on December 12, 2015 after a lengthy illness. The first six years of her life were spent in a log cabin outside of West Yellowstone, Montana where her father was a logger. She had wonderful memories of those years but there was no school in West Yellowstone in those days so rather than "board her out" the family moved back to Pocatello. After graduating from Highland High School in 1965 she took a job at the Pocatello Holiday Inn where she worked her way up to the position of assistant manager. It was there that she met her husband, Bill. They were married on November 16, 1973. They both enjoyed the outdoors and spent time camping, fishing, and snowmobiling with friends and family. Bill worked for an oil company in marketing and when that company decided to leave Idaho they offered him a job in Denver, Colorado. Over the years they followed his career to Houston, Texas, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Florence, Montana where they eventually retired. Sharon was able to stay close to her friends and family throughout her life. She and Bill were lucky enough to be able to travel to many different countries but her favorite was Australia where she has many friends and "family". Some adjectives consistently used to describe her were "Feisty, Independent, Compassionate, Caring, and Giving".Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and good friends. She is survived by her husband, Bill, their son, Jason, and his wife Kelly, their son, Jim, her brothers Tom and Alan and their wives Eddie and Nancy and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a small memorial service to celebrate her life at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 9th at the Whitesitt Funeral Home located at 314 Church Street in Stevensville, Montana followed by a short reception from approximately 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. at Cafe Firenze in Florence, Montana. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Sharon's favorite charity, Susan's Fund in care of The Florence Pharmacy, 5549 Old US Highway, Florence, MT 59833.
