Sharon Lee (Meier) MowryMANSFIELD: Sharon Lee (Meier) Mowry, 76, of Ontario passed away on October 6, 2016 surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on February 3, 1940 in Shelby, Ohio to Betty (Cole) and Robert Meier. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and was a life-long learner. Sharon's quick wit made everyone laugh, and she absolutely loved to sing and dance. For over 30 years, she took great pride in partnering with her husband and children in operating a family business, but she was most gratified mentoring their young employees.Working with young people was a passion, and she volunteered at church camps and mission trips, and tutored in the local schools. Any time she could encourage or elevate the lives of children, she was in her element. She was a tremendous role model and believed in working hard and taking pride in living up to the potential within. She strived, her entire life, to live fully, to challenge the status quo, and to encourage others to do the same. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roger P. Mowry; son, Ray (Karen) Mowry; daughters, Jamie (Kevin) Pope and Susan (Paul) Sukys; grandchildren, Ashley (Christopher) Gentille, Megan (Eric) Gentille, Ryan Mowry, Michael Mowry, and Zachary Pope; and sister Margaret (Louis) Kurtzman. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. The family gives heartfelt thanks to the dedicated caregivers who provided assistance and comfort to Sharon over many years, with special recognition to her long-time aide, Kris. Hospice of North Central Ohio helped with a peaceful passing, and we are forever grateful to all those who made this journey a meaningful one.Sharon was a member of the Ontario United Methodist Church for over 55 years, and a celebration of Sharon's life will be held at the church on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM located at 3540 Park Ave. West, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the at
