Sharon Lehrbas Neff, 75, passed away on Nov. 27, 2016, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Hospital.A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at 16036 Carl Street in Anchorage, Alaska. Her cremated remains will be scattered at Homer, Alaska.Sharon was born on June 20, 1941, in Libby, Mont., where she grew up. She attended college for two years in Chena, Wash. Sharon enjoyed talking about her family's adventure of driving the Alcan Highway in April 1968, with her husband, two kids (ages 6 and 1) and the family dog in a Ford F150 pickup. Arriving in Alaska in May 1968, she worked as a bartender at various bars in Anchorage and Eagle River until 1992. Sharon lost her first husband, Floyd Lehrbas, in 1977, to a heart attack. In 1983, she met her present husband, Darrell Neff, and they have been together since. In 1992, Sharon began working at Costco, retiring in 2003.She loved to garden: planting her flower baskets in the spring and working in her flower beds all summer.Sharon is survived by her husband, Darrell L. Neff of Anchorage; daughter, Tammy K. Fiori of Anchorage; son, Tracy L. Lehrbas of Anchorage; two stepdaughters, Tammy A. Meyer of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Natalie V. Sundquist of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.Mrs. Neff is preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Lehrbas; parents, Earl and Alice McCrory; and sister, Sheila.Arrangements by Cremation Society of Alaska, www.alaskacremation.com.
