Young, ShawnShawn Lee Young, age 32, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 10, 2017, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on August 17, 1984. Shawn was a 2002 graduate of Shiocton High School. He formerly worked for Highway Landscapers Inc. and was currently working for Daanen & Janssen Materials in De Pere. Shawn loved working on cars and showing off while doing his signature donuts. He was a member of the Stephensville Street Rods, enjoyed attending car swap meets and spending time at Shawano Speedway in the pits. He was a devoted father who loved sharing his passion of cars with Blake.He is survived by his son Blake Young; father Darwin Young; mother Diana (Wayne) Van Straten; siblings Vanessa Young and Jackson Van Straten; niece, Rose Young; significant other, Sammi Suprise and her daughter, Kailee Suprise; maternal grandparents, Robert (Rosie) Weiland; and God-parents, Christine (Richard) Lautenschlager. He is further survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.Shawn was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Abraham (Ester) Young and step-grandparents, Gerald (Arlene) Van Straten.Mass of Christian Burial for Shawn will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Church, Mackville with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17th from 4-8 p.m. at the Borchardt Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton and also at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Town of Bovina.The family would like to thank the Ellington Fire Department and First Responders.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
