Shedrick Lawson passed away on Monday July 27, 2020, at his home.
Shedrick was born in Hancock County, Ga on January 6, 1954 to Mr. Horace Lawson and Roxie Armstrong. From childhood on he was know for his warm smile and engaging personality.
He started his educational journey at Hancock Central Schools wher he played sports: basketball, football, and even baseball. He then matriculated at Fort Valley State College where he received his Bachelor's degree. He then began his career as a teacher in the Hancock County Schools where he was known for his innovative teaching methods and was loved and respected by his students.
Because of his love of teaching, after retiring from the district he taught GED classess at Hancock State Prison until the lord called him home. He was also an entrepreneur at heart, and at various times operated a restaurant, a villard parlor, Po Boy's Landscape Service and Po Boy's Fish & Veggie Farm.
Shet is survived by brothers Harrell and Arthur and sisters Laverne and Valerie. He is also survived by his partner, Vera Stewart. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Shedrick Lawson was a lifelong member of St. Paul CME Church.
His life was such that he will be missed.
