Sheldon R. Fernando, age 50 was born on November 4, 1965 in Phoenix, AZ., and passed away on October 25, 2016 in Rio Rancho, NM with his family surrounding him. He lived in Phoenix, AZ., Albuquerque, NM., Laguna Pueblo, NM., and Mescalero, NM. Sheldon graduated from St. Pius High School in Albuquerque, NM. He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier the USS Saratoga.He is survived by his parents; Chester and Dorene Fernando, sisters; Marcene Kane and Vanessa Fernando, wife; Madonna Fernando, children; Eldon Fernando, Kyrstin Fernando, Joey Weeker, Kanin Fernando, and Khalia Fernando. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives from Mescalero and Laguna, NM.A memorial mass will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Apache Mission in Mescalero, NM.
