Shena earned a degree of L.C.S.T. from the British College of Speech Therapy in Glasgow, Scotland, and then began what would become a long career dedicated to helping people in the maternal and child care field. Over the next decades, Shena then worked at St. Francis hospital in Pittsburgh; Jewish Family Services in Tucson, Arizona; and, for many years before her retirement, as a leader in the Child Abuse Prevention Program, Pediatrics Department, of Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Shena traveled widely with her husband, and lived for periods of time in Ecuador, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, England, and many places in the U.S. In her later years, she was a long time resident of the Gainesville area, where she had many friends who knew her as a gracious, outgoing, colorful and kind person. She is survived by her loving family; her husband of 57 years, Murdo J. MacLeod; their sons Niall (Cynthia) and Lewis MacLeod; daughter-in-law Cynthia MacLeod; and her grandchildren Alison and Scott MacLeod. Shena's family would like to thank everyone at Center for Movement Disorders at the University of Florida for their care over the years.
