Baker, Sherrill Wayne,age 78, of Louisville, passed away at 4:10 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Norton Audubon Hospital. A native of Washington County, he was born on January 20, 1939 to the late Richard Daniel and Sarah Kathryn Royalty Baker. He was a 1957 graduate of Mackville High School, a member and deacon of Green Acres Baptist Church, a member of the Preston Masonic Lodge @ 281 F. & A.M., a Shriner and an avid fisherman. He was the owner and operator of B & J Marine and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife Judy Long Baker; two daughters, Dana Robertson (Brian) and Charla Pohl (Danny) and three grandchildren, Kameron Robertson, Ben Pohl and Hannah Pohl. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, June 17th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff McCarty, pastor of the Green Acres Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Kameron Robertson, Ben Pohl, Tommy Williams, Jeff Hicks, Greg Crum and Chris Cornish. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Friday and after 8:00 Saturday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home, 216 East Main Street, Springfield, KY 40069.
