Sherry L. AmbroseSpring Garden Twp.Sherry L. Ambrose, 63, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at the York Hospital.She was the wife of the late Lee M. Ambrose, Jr.Sherry was born on May 27, 1953, in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Gerald W. and Phyllis M. (Jones) Maye.She was a billing and human resource clerk for St. Johnsberry and Estes Trucking Companies.She was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she taught preschool Sunday school.She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church Emigsville. She was a member of the Red Hat "Ditzy Chicks". She was a member of the card club and an 11 year survivor of cancer.She was an avid Penn State and Duke Blue Devils fan.The viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 3225 N. George St., Emigsville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.Sherry is survived by a son, Brandon Lee Ambrose and his wife, Amanda, of York; two grandchildren, whom she adored, Trey Ambrose and Carter Ambrose; two sisters, Patricia M. Butler, of Durham NC, Barbara A. Maye, of York; and half sister, Evelyn Underwood of Smithville, TN; one brother, G. Wayne Maye, Jr. of York;and half brother, Glenn E. Heffner, of Wilmington, DE; several nieces and nephews, including Chase and Cannon Maye to whom she was very close to.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the of Pennsylvania, 3001 Old Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011; or to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 3225 N.
